Hi, everyone. Welcome to the conversation about spiritual awakening, planetary shift in consciousness, adventure, healing, and finding your life path.

Deep in the cloud forest of Ecuador, there is a tribe called the T’satchila. They live on the northwestern slopes of the Andes mountains, and they are profoundly spiritual people, connected with the land, working with many plants and healing practices including steam baths, limpias, and ayahuasca ceremonies.

The males color their with a signature red dye from a plant called achiote, in honor of the treatment they used for smallpox during early colonization in which they covered their bodies with dye from the plant that saved them when many indigenous people perished at the time.

Ecuador is a really small country South America, and it is also one of the most biodiverse in the entire world, both with plant and animal life as well as diversity with humans and indigenous tribes. However, continued survival of these tribes is threatened. The T’satchila especially are open to extending their home and spiritual practices to visitors who, in turn, support their way of life with their financial exchange.

If you would like to visit them, they welcome you to set up a tour or extended stay with them. Taita Don Manuel Calazacon and his tribe are one of those groups who especially welcome you. They live near near Santo Domingo and you can stay with them directly, or it can arranged for them to visit you at the Amaroo Sanctuary which is run by a group of westerners with the support of local Eucadorians.

Today’s podcast is a healing song of the T’satchila tribe, with traditional drum, whistles, and other healing sounds. It is a ceremonial song meant to purify and cleanse. Enjoy the sounds - let them lift your spirit.
